Friday SiB installed an alarm. Whenever someone enters or leaves the apartment it goes diidiidiidiidii.
I first noticed it early Friday morning when a roommate left very early. I woke up thinking the diidiidii was the fire alarm but it wasn't quite so loud. I half expected it to start in my room any second but it never did. Besides, the fire alarm goes dooaaadoooaaadoooaaa not diidii.
The diidiidiidiidii starts whenever the door to the apartment is opened and doesn't stop until it is closed. It's a rather piercing sound and, my bed being less than 2 meters from it, it does tend to wake me up whenever someone comes backs or leaves during the night or early hours of the morning.
There's another one at the door downstairs, on the first floor (it sounds more like diiiiii), and I'm sure all the other apartments have one of these. The box the sound is coming from was put up a year ago but the sound started Friday.
I wonder what the hell this is supposed to be good for.
Need to send email to SiB tomorrow to ask if it has any functions other than as an alarm clock.
DiiiDiiiiDiiiiDiii*WHACK*
ReplyDeleteProblem solved.
Hmmm Well you can put a frequency selective microcircuit to your ears and adjust the cutoff frequencies to that strange alarm devices' operating frequencies :D
