Easter

Finally!

I've been so busy lately I've started messing up, breaking keys, forgetting to lock doors. Not good!

A week off sounds just right, I thought I'd have more time a couple weeks ago when I was home alone for a week, but no such luck. One day I worked eleven and a half hours - not so unusual for a lot of people, but very new to me.

What I don't like about Easter is having to go skiing. I fear I'll be more wobbly than usual this year, because something I am looking forward to is happening the night before - a show put on by the soccer association. If I've ever been to one of those, it must have been years. Can't wait!

The Guy With The Latex Sheets

A couple years ago I was at work at the mall in Bergen. I walked past some guys, one had a microphone in his hand and wondered if he could ask me some questions. I didn't have the time, I had to hurry back to work.

I walked up the stairs and the guy came running after me. He seemed nice, if a little pushy and a bit older than me. His microphone was shoved in his back pocket. When we got to the shop he said he needed some help. He was looking for sheets, you see.

Sheets. Right. We had plenty of those. He asked if we had any in latex.
"You know, because things can get a bit messy sometimes" *wink wink*. Yeah... no sorry, we didn't have any of those. At that, he made a flirty comment I can no longer remember, and left.

I thought of that guy again today when I was reading a post on a Norwegian blog about sex toys, body paint, massage oil and the like. The oil always seemed so messy to me - how do you manage to play around with the sticky stuff without leaving stains all over? The solution may be getting a latex sheet.

It is kinda hard to be spontaneous if you have to change the sheets before you start though... anybody got any better ideas?

As for the guy, I saw him again a week later. He was jogging past the building where I lived as I came outside. He stopped fifty yards up the road, just outside the window of the apartment, bent down and fiddled with his shoes until I'd passed him, which was when I recognized him.

I'm sure if he lived in the neighbourhood I'd seen him many times before.. it only took a microphone and a few comments about latex sheets for me to notice him (I wouldn't recommend that as a pick up line though, it probably won't have the desired effect!).

Or who knows, maybe he was a secret agent spying on me from the place I worked and outside the apartment. He probably had a tiny camera and binoculars with him, and there's a thick dossier on me on someone's desk somewhere...

A jogging latex spy.
I like!

Visiting Work

I stopped by (ex)work before leaving Bergen. Some of the girls are still there, some have moved on.

One of my former colleagues had left. She'd met a guy online and moved to another part of the country.

I started wondering... hadn't she been married? But it wasn't until I left that I remembered she'd been living with a guy I'd met a lot of times. They had a couple of teenage kids together.

I would never in a million years have thought she was the kinda person who would do something like that. Of course, I don't know what has happened the year I've been gone.

Still, I am beyond shocked right now... (and really really wishing I'd have remembered it earlier so I could have gotten the whole background story from the girls!)

Maybe those people are right - the internet is a dangerous place!

Gathering those loose ends

I'm adding a lot of people on Facebook these days. I know it'll probably be another one of those places that has a lot of fans, only to disappear in a couple years, never to be thought of again. But for once I want to try to keep in touch.

On there I'm not apples, I'm the real me. So if I've added you it means I care. At least a little. As a general rule I only add people I've met and want to meet again, so my circle of "friends" has been rather limited thus far.

Now is not any different - I'm adding the people I once knew, and hope to know once more. Or at least talk to once in a while. That includes people from home, family, high school, Uni, flatmates, Amnesty, Uganda, work, you name it.

There are plenty of people I can't find, not all are on there, but no matter. It's fun seeing what those I do find are up to these days :)

Time to freak out yet?

8 days till my first exam.
I have an eight hour one on Thursday and one lasting five or six on Friday.

After exams I'll be working two weeks, before going home.
I haven't been home since Easter, and it'll be fun to be back there.
Only my parents have redecorated. A lot.
I probably won't know I'm home.

I'll also attend four pre-Christmas parties (Norwegian : julebord) in two weeks.
The first is this Saturday.
Two will be on a boat. We'll be celebrating my mother turning 50, and my aunt's husband will be 60.
We'll be lots of people and we'll be going to Germany and back.

I have to buy new shoes as I don't have dress-up-and-look-pretty-shoes.
I have no time to go shopping.
(never thought you'd hear a girl say that, did ya?)

Another few days and my eye will start twitching..
At least I'll survive no matter what happens.
That's become my new mantra when it comes to exams.
..I'm not sure that's a good thing..

Summer job

I've been trying to register on this page for a while. I need a summer job to cover my rent this summer and there is one page where all vacant jobs in the country are supposed to be registered. It just doesn't seem to work.

The first time I tried it just wouldn't let me in.
The second time I tried they said I can't do it between 11pm and 7am (and I was doing it in the evening)
The third time I tried I kept getting "can't find server".

Then today I finally managed to register. Now I need to make a resume. Only the course I took in high school, Allmenne, økonomiske og administrative fag (General subjects, economy and administration), doesn't seem to exist. They do have "General subjects, society and language subjects" and "Economy and administration". What I studied doesn't seem to exist on this page.

I figured I'd finish it later and just did a quick search to see whether there are any summer jobs here. Two out of three times, it just doesn't work. And when it does work, it stops for a while, and then there's nothing there.

It doesn't seem like I'm meant to get a job here...

Student seeking work

Do you have a summer job for me? I'll do pretty much anything and I can stay throughout June and July. I don't have much work experience but I always try to do my very best. I'll work day or night, morning or evening, as long as we have some sort of schedule.

Send me a message if you're interested.
