Brann Stadium

Bergen's football club is called Brann, meaning fire, and possible something else I have no idea what is, due to the fact that I am not a 'Bergenser' and never will be. The team's been pretty good this year though, they won the cup last year and now they've almost won the series, they're 4 points ahead with 6 matches to go - even I would get patriotic (so to speak) for less.

Trying to find the address to their stadium (yeah I've been messing around with Google Earth again..) I go digging through their pages.

At the bottom I find these words:

"No material from these pages should be copied or linked to without permisson."

Naturally I resent that so here's the link.

Anyways, what I was getting to, was the address, or, more specifically, how to get there. Not that I'm planning on going but I walked past a while ago and wondered where, exactly, it was.

Getting there's easy enough. They recommend going by bus since traffic can be a nightmare and you don't wanna cause a traffic jam when you'd rather be watching a football game. It says the local bus company has extra buses going to the stadium on the days of the matches. (They really do, there's "Brann Stadium" written on them and a little football player (I think) and sometimes flags).

But then comes the part I really liked:

"If you choose to go by foot, it'll take you about 30-60 minutes, depending on where you are and how much you've had to drink."

Don't you just love it when they're blunt?

If you're wondering about the address, then it's in "Idrettsveien 47" (norwegian for "The Sports Road"). If you're wondering how to get to it, then I think you've been to Haukelandshallen (when you've had an exam). So just go south from there, keeping to the left, and you should see it on the left. If that doesn't help you, I could give you lots of other directions, depending on where you're starting.

Anyway, I couldn't get Google Earth to move there by typing in the address, but the coords are 60 22'00.90" N 5 21'26.85" E

And actually it's called "Brann Stadion", not "Stadium". And while I might be wrong (not being a Bergenser either, and not really caring about sports), I think it was in 2004 they won the cup. Not last year.

  2. Thanks for pointing out my faults.

I don't think I'll correct them this time, it would sort of ruin the flow of things.

I don't like changing too much, I'd might lose myself.
